Legacy Junior Public Speaking

The regional final of the Legacy Junior Public Speaking competition was held in Ballarat on Tuesday. Ararat College was represented by James Mullin, who competed against students from Ballarat, Bendigo, Nhill and Ouyen. Each student delivered a five minute prepared speech, on a topic of their own choosing, with themes ranging from discrimination to veganism. James speech was titled ‘Adam Goodes - An Inspiration’ and focused on the issue of racism. Students were then required to give a two minute impromptu speech, each of them speaking on the same topic - ‘A Path Worth Taking’.

James was named a winner on the day, and will now go on to speak at the Victorian State Final, to be held at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne on October 25.

Congratulations James!
