ARARAT COLLEGE

Ararat College has played an important role in serving the needs of young people in the Ararat and surrounding community for over 100 years.  While the school has undergone a number of name changes and amalgamations there has been a continuous strong provision of state education.  Our school prides itself on its success in encouraging its students to achieve their full academic, physical and social potential and to become proactive and well-rounded young citizens equipped to have a positive impact on the world. Every year our school has students who achieve outstanding results in VCE, VCAL and VET programs and our overall pass rate has been close to or at 100%.  Ararat College has commitments to life-long learning, to building a safe and supportive environment and to creating a positive set of personal values

Our school does not step back from the challenge of accepting all young people and providing them with appropriate, personalised learning programs to maximise their prospects and this cannot be said of all schools.  While some individual students may be particularly demanding, such people also exist in society and I firmly believe that by being educated in an environment that these individuals are appropriately catered for, all of our students become more tolerant, more confident and more resilient and are better prepared for life beyond school and for associating with people from a wide range of social, economic and cultural backgrounds.
