Spin Chat

Our Year 10 students commenced the AWARE (based on the PARTY Program research) for 2019 with a visit from Robbie Peime from Spinchat. Robbie presented to students on his lived experience with a spinal cord injury.

Spin Chat is an initiative of Independence Australia and aims to promote prevention and educate secondary school students about spinal cord injury.

Robbie stated to the students that “My life changed forever when I was 17, I was involved in a head-on collision between a car and the motorbike I was riding. I was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition”. His presentation was an amazingly honest and candid account of the lived experiences. He faced his difficulties within his life truthfully and with courage, he was a true inspiration to us all. To read more of Robbie’s story please visit www.spinchat.org.au

Next Tuesday 20th August our year 10 students will head to EGCH to gain a greater understanding of the local health services and how they deal with individuals involved in trauma.
