Yesterday I accompanied four students from the leadership team to the Central Highlands Regional Assembly, held at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre. Lauren Bowles, Jack ward, Georgia Jenkins and Daniel Leggett were asked their opinions on a range of topics concerning their future in regional Victoria. Subjects included: Health (strengthening prevention to improve the health of our communities), Social (understanding and addressing homelessness in our region), Energy (stimulating economic growth and community benefit for the region as we transition towards a zero net emissions economy). Digital (addressing the digital divide in regional Victoria) and Agriculture (maximising opportunities for agriculture in our region).
Students are pictured with the new Ararat College 12 seater bus. The bus arrived last week and has already been useful in transferring VCAL students to the School Farm on Thursdays.
