Debating Win for Ararat College

Last week the debating team travelled to Ballarat to debate against St. Patricks College in the fourth round of the debating competition. We were given our topic, which was ‘that Australia should introduce a bill of rights’, and had an hour to write our speeches.

For Ararat the first speaker was April Jenkins (who did a great job in her first ever debate), second speaker was Amber Baulch, and the third speaker was Tiarna Conroy. Writing assistance came from Lauren Bowles and Georgia Jenkins.

Both teams debated with all their might, and we narrowly defeated them, with Amber Baulch coming away with the best speaker award. We would like to thank Ms Nuttall and Mr Bowles for taking the time to drive us to and from the debate.
