Street Art Workshop

Our school has recently had the pleasure of hosting a graffiti artist. Ashley Goudie from KIL Productions (Keeping It Legal) is a reformed graffiti artist who teaches street art and VCAL at Holmesglen TAFE. Ashley has been commissioned by VicPol and the Rural City of Ararat to teach students about street art. Ashley has been working with a group of our students to teach them the skills necessary for them to be able to create, design and participate in the painting of the new skate park.

AC News Press Conference

Congratulations to Jack Ward and the AC News team for their recent very successful press conference to recognise the outstanding support of Ararat’s Anglicare by numerous community organisations. These organisations included The Ararat Lions Club, Anglican Ladies Fellow and Anglican Parish of Ararat. Thanks to very kind donations from these groups, Ararat Anglicare has been able to generously assist with funding students from our school to enable them to participate in the annual Maria Island “Walk for Higher Education”. On this trip our students are accompanied by representatives and students from Federation University. It is designed to challenge participants to see what they are real

School Production

Congratulations to all of our students involved in this year’s School Production “Another High School Musical – Bring It on”. It is always a pleasure to see the exceptional talents of our students displayed in a different area. It was also very pleasing to see so many students directly involved in this year’s production, and so obviously enjoying themselves. There were many outstanding performances on both nights. A big thank you to Ms Poole and the many staff who assisted her with this year’s school production, and thank you to the many staff who supervised extra classes to enable them to have a direct involvement.

Year 10 Ski Camp

In the first week of this term, Year 10 students, along with students from the Year 12 Outdoor Education class, travelled to Mt. Buller to enjoy three days of snow related fun! We were lucky enough to have great conditions, with overnight snowfalls providing plenty of fresh powder snow. Activities included skiing lessons for beginners, or for those with skiing experience, the chance to hit the slopes. There may also have been a snowball fight or two ! A big thank you to Mrs Erhardt for her organisation of the trip, and to Mrs McDougall, Mr Kimber and Mr Ellis for accompanying us.
