ENTRY SPECIFICATIONS

 

  • A photo of the student can be included and must be clearly labelled. Note that only the student's first name will be recorded on the web page. Permission to include the photograph must be obtained by the submitting teacher.
  • Only students enrolled in middle, high and secondary schools are eligible to enter their writing (maximum age 18 years at the time of submission)
  • Maximum length of essay: two pages, double spaced
  • Each school is eligible to submit the best ten pieces of writing for consideration
  • Submissions must be typewritten or clearly hand written in black
  • Age group: students must be between 12 -18 years of age as at November 17, 2000.
  • It is recommended that all entries be electronically submitted, however if this is not possible, entries should be clearly labelled and posted to the Project Co-ordinator prior to November 17,2000.

VERIFICATION OF STUDENT WRITING

All entries must be submitted by a classroom teacher verifying that each entry is the student's original work. All entries must include details of:

  • School name, address and contact details
  • Year level/grade
  • Names and ages of students (Only Christian names will appear on-line)
  • Name and contact details of teacher/s verifying entry
TIMELINE

Writing must be forwarded by November 17, 2000 to enable selection of the successful students to present at the conference, inclusion on the web site and preparation of the publication.

Winning entries will be notified by December 30, 2000

SUBMISSION / NECESSARY FILE FORMATS

1. Entries in English
Entries can be e-mailed or posted
to the Project Co-ordinator as WORD documents or in the body of an email

2. Entries in Mandarin Chinese
Entries must be e-mailed as a clear (high
resolution).gif or .jpeg file or posted to
the project co-ordinator

3. Bilingual entries
Entries will be welcomed.
